Book of the Month:

Ann Grahame is a very compassionate and passionate advocate for mental health. “We have mental illness in our family”. At times it’s difficult to talk about this illness, even to close friends”. The sufferers can exhibit behaviours that they would normally be ashamed of.
Ann has found that writing about her feelings helps her a lot. Ann asked “Who said, ‘The pen is mightier than the sword?’. I find this to be true”. Ann has put together a booklet of verses reflective of her journey. She would like to share these verses with others to help them realise they are not alone.
With no training in the field of mental illness but much personal experience, Ann has appeared as a guest speaker in lectures to students at Newcastle University. She has addressed community forums, Probus and Rotary groups, also speaking to professionals and many others about this condition.

A booklet of verses for sale for $10.
Donations go to the service for Mental Health Carers ARAFMI Hunter.
